Parent
Coaching Workshop FAQ’s
I want to learn more about
parenting and the issues that impact my child. But I’m too busy to
attend a weekly class! Workshops may be the perfect option for
you! Workshops can be booked as a one-time event or be offered in a
once-a-month series format. Workshops are offered in ½ day blocks (3
½ hours).
How is a workshop different
then a regular six-week class? In addition to the length of time
and frequency of instruction workshops do differ in other ways.
Classes (12 hours of instruction) offer the opportunity to build
upon previous knowledge whereas the workshop is a self-contained
unit of information. Workshops tend to be group oriented and do not
allow for a great deal of individualization. Parents that are highly motivated and high
functioning are well suited to the workshop option.
How are workshop topics chosen?
Topics are chosen in advance by you-the contracting party. A
list of our workshop offerings is available so that we can best
cover the interest areas and needs of your group. It is recommended
that you contact the parent coach to book the workshop that
will best meet the needs of your group.
Who can book a workshop?
Anyone! Social Service agencies, church groups, therapists,
support groups, and parents are our most frequent clients.
I am an interested parent, but
I don’t belong to any particular group. Can parents book a
workshop? Absolutely! Parents are precisely the people we wish
to serve. Our goal is to arm caregivers with the most up to date
parenting information so that you can best enrich the life of your
child. Individual parents can book workshops and invite their
friends and neighbors to share the cost.
What is the cost of a workshop?
The minimum cost per workshop is $100. This fee covers coach time,
materials, videos, and psycho-educational group aids for up to ten
people. Additional people may attend the workshop for a fee of $25
per person.
Where do workshops take place?
This is the best
part! Our
coach will travel to you! Workshops can be held anywhere that
can accommodate the size of your group. The only necessary equipment
at the location is a television with a working DVD and VHS player.
